Start with where the water appears
A downpipe spilling at its base can point to a restriction near the connection or further along the stormwater line. Water spilling over the gutter during rain could start higher up. Note the first place water escapes and whether other downpipes on the property behave the same way.
Compare one outlet with the rest of the property
One puddle can also be caused by a low spot in the ground. If water pools around several drainage points, or a pit stays full after nearby surfaces have drained, give the team the pattern as well as the location. That helps them decide which part of the drainage system to investigate.
Record the pattern from a safe spot
Take a photo or short video when water first backs up and another after the rain. Include the grate, downpipe or surface drain in the frame if visible. Tell Drain Vac whether the problem happens during ordinary rain or only in a heavy downpour, and whether anything changed after recent garden or paving work.
When to ask about cleaning
If water regularly backs up at the same point, ask about drain cleaning in Warrnambool. The property address, affected outlet and timing give the team a better starting point than a photo of the puddle on its own.
